The Hudson Valley Jazz Trio is rotating group of players working as a 7 piece to trio comprised of artists that have participated in the past 13 years of The Hudson Valley Jazz Festival ( returning August 9-13 with Lydia’s Cafe presenting a concert as well).
For this appearance at Lydia’s the trio will be Joe Vincent Tranchina, composer, sought after pianist and winner of “Best Jazz Musician in The Hudson Valley” poll, a few years back.
J. Brunka is a music teacher and acoustic and electric bassist with a varied background from classical to R&B to world to jazz.
Steve Rubin studied with Mel Lewis and is founder of the festival. J. Joe and Steve also are part of the improv ensemble “Beyond Jazz”.
The Hudson Valley Jazz Trio selects a mixed bag of jazz standards and puts their own sensibility to it. Whether changing up rhythms, arrangements and styling them to each performance.
